Problem

Why Standard Antennas Fail
in Real Projects

Many RF projects fail at the antenna stage not because the system concept is wrong, but because standard antennas force compromises. Custom engineering solves these problems by designing around actual deployment conditions.

01
Frequency Mismatch
Operating band does not align with real system requirements, causing compromised performance from the start.
02
Gain & Pattern Conflict
Gain targets are unrealistic for available space, or radiation pattern does not suit the deployment geometry.
03
Mounting Constraints
Space and mounting limitations ignored, leading to mechanical integration failure in the field.
04
Power Handling Failure
Standard antennas cannot handle required CW or pulsed power levels, risking damage during operation.
05
Environmental Underestimation
Outdoor sealing, vibration and temperature extremes exceed off-the-shelf product limits.
06
Standard Product Compromise
Choosing off-the-shelf forces system-level compromise that degrades entire RF chain performance.

Buyer Guide

What Buyers Often Overlook in Custom Antenna Sourcing

Many delays begin long before production. Incomplete requirements and missing environmental details often result in unnecessary redesign cycles.

  • 01
Defining only frequency but not radiation pattern or coverage requirements
  • 02
Asking for gain without specifying available size or mounting space
  • 03
Ignoring connector type, cable routing and feed interface constraints
  • 04
Missing power handling and thermal dissipation requirements
  • 05
Not specifying real deployment environment and operating conditions
  • 06
Approving prototypes without considering batch production consistency
Customer Impact

Why This Matters to Your Project

In-house coordination between engineering, testing and manufacturing improves the chance that the delivered antenna behaves as expected in the final system.

  • Less back-and-forth — fewer handoffs between departments mean faster alignment on requirements
  • Faster to sample — move from concept to validated sample with shorter engineering loops
  • Controllable schedule — better visibility into production status and delivery timeline
  • Smoother production transition — prototype to batch with consistent tooling and process
  • Reduced mismatch — lower risk of gap between design intent and manufactured result

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

At minimum: target frequency range, gain requirement, VSWR target, power handling level, mounting method and operating environment. Drawings, reference samples or existing specs are also welcome.
Yes. We work from customer-provided drawings, 3D models, hand sketches and physical reference samples. Our engineers translate your input into a manufacturable design with full EM simulation verification.
Every unit ships with individual VNA-measured S11/VSWR data. Gain and radiation pattern measurements from our anechoic chamber are included in the design validation package.
For designs based on existing platforms, 72 hours to 7 days from design approval. New designs require EM simulation first (3–5 days), then fabrication. Total typically 2–3 weeks from requirement confirmation.
Yes. Minimum order is 1 unit. Many customers start with 1–5 prototypes, then scale. We use production-intent tooling from the prototype stage to avoid spec drift.
Yes. All mechanical interfaces including connector type (N, SMA, TNC, BNC and custom), cable length, bracket design and radome material are configurable.
Yes. We design for outdoor installation, vehicle mounting with vibration, −40°C to +70°C temperature range, and IP67 sealing. MIL-STD-810 qualification is available.
Yes. OEM manufacturing to your design, ODM with full IP transfer, and co-development partnerships. NDA and confidentiality agreements are standard.
